Job summary

FYidoctors Fort McMurray - Eagle Ridge is seeking an Optical Associate for a casual 0–19 hour per week position in a busy clinic. You will greet patients, assist with frame selection, interpret prescriptions, and support billing and administrative tasks.

In this role, you’ll help deliver exceptional vision experiences in a collaborative environment with ongoing training and growth opportunities. Prior optical or retail experience is an asset, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous optical or retail experience is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
• A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure value, quality, aesthetics and performance.
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning, as well as repairs and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.

Our FYidoctors Fort McMurray - Eagle Ridge clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a Casual role working 0-19 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
