Job summary

FYidoctors Campus - University of Saskatchewan clinic in Saskatoon is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team and deliver exceptional eyewear experiences. You’ll greet patients, help with frame selection, interpret prescriptions, take measurements, and support billing and appointments.

The position is full-time (30–40 hours/week), with Monday to Friday hours. We value teamwork, patient-first service, and ongoing training to grow with our expanding clinic network.

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients.
• Collaborative, adaptable, proactive team player with a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection.
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.
