Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. Brampton facility is seeking a Production Operator to run the production line, feed materials, resolve line stoppages and ensure finished products meet quality specs. You will prepare products for shipment and operate related equipment at the Brampton site.

You will adhere to safety policies, perform quality checks, and document metrics. Forklift operation and shift work are required, with emphasis on accuracy, teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction industry preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of proven forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English – Reading, Writing and Speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety policies, programs and procedures.
  • Inspect raw materials and finished products per quality specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks at regular intervals.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment per standard work instructions.
  • Operate counterbalance propane-powered forklift.
  • Enter waste and downtime data into PRODAC and hand-written reports.
  • Document production numbers and downtime contributors.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned.
  • Work rotating shifts.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the role will be responsible for running the production line for the IKO Industries Ltd. production facility. This includes operating machinery, ensuring that raw materials are fed properly through the manufacturing process, resolving line stoppages, clearing equipment jams, verifying finished products against quality specifications, and ensuring that products are properly prepared for shipment.

When you join us, you will be
  • Adhering to safety policies, programs, procedures

  • Document production numbers, items contributing to down-time (using computerized system called PRODAC, as well as hand-written production reports)

  • Required to work rotational shifts.
Our ideal candidate
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction industry preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of proven forklift operating experience preferred
  • Comfortable with standing for extended periods of time
  • Manual Dexterity and Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow direction and specific instructions
  • Good communication skills; Fluent in English - Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Must be able to walk and/or stand 90% of the shift
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
