Job summary

IKO Industries is seeking a Warehouse Person in Brampton to operate a sit-down counter balance forklift, load/unload trucks, and support inventory control.

The role requires a valid forklift certification, the ability to read pick lists, and willingness to work Sundays to Fridays, 8:00pm–4:30am, in outdoor and yard environments. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have valid forklift certification class 1 license.
• Must be able to read a pick list.
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including weekends.
• Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical.
• Previous experience with materials handling & distribution warehouses preferred.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Responsibilities

Job Description Warehouse Person Position Overview

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the successful candidate will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit down counter balance forklift while maintaining a valid forklift certification
• Must be comfortable working outside in the elements
• Communicate with drivers to ensure the accuracy of the load as well as safety requirements for loading/unloading materials
• Identify where product is located in the yard and in the warehouse by utilizing the FIFO system.
• Load/unload trucks
• Pick and sort stock using a forklift ensuring minimal errors
• Assist with inventory counts as required
• Guide truck drivers where they need to go in order to safely loaded/unloaded
