Job summary

GFL Environmental in Nova Scotia seeks a field operator to support industrial cleaning operations and camera inspections. You will drive equipment, perform high-pressure cleaning, and assist in sewer entry tasks while maintaining safety and service quality.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma, a Class 3 license, and can lift 50 lbs. Roles involve traveling to various sites and adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Class 3 license is required.
• Must have good communication skills to interact verbally with peers and customers.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Able to perform confined space entry tasks.
• Comfortable working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Operate and understand equipment including camera truck, mobile wash, vacuum trucks, wet/dry vacuum unit and high-pressure water blast unit.
• Perform industrial cleaning using pressure wash, High Pressure and Hose Truck.
• Assist Camera Operation for entry into sewer pipes for inspection and pipeline flushing.
• Perform confined space entry tasks.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections and work orders on time and legibly.
• Provide professional customer service on and off the job.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and report injuries or hazards to Supervisor.
• Contribute to all tasks assigned by Supervisor across locations.
• Work efficiently to meet productivity goals while maintaining quality.
• Adhere to Environmental and Health & Safety policies.

Key Accountabilities

• Can operate and understand the operation of equipment which includes camera truck, mobile wash, vacuum trucks, wet/dry vacuum truck unit and high-pressure water blast unit
• Perform industrial cleaning using pressure wash, High Pressure and Hose Truck
• Perform and assist Camera Operation for entry into sewer pipes for inspection purposes and pipeline flushing
• Perform confined space entry jobs
• Lift up to 50lbs to set up and control hoses, and to shovel waste material
• Accurately complete pre and post trip inspections and work orders on time and in a legible manner
• Represent the Company by providing professional customer service to our clients, customers, vendors, both on and off the job
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and identify and report all workplace injuries, incidents and potential hazards immediately to your Supervisor
• Participate in all work related tasks as assigned by your Supervisor at a variety of locations in a safe and effective manner
• Work efficiently to meet or exceed our productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards
• Adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.
