Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is seeking an Equipment Operator to support industrial cleaning operations. You will operate camera trucks, vacuum units, and high‑pressure water systems in a safety‑driven environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma, a Class 3 license, good communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, along with confined space entry and heights work. You’ll rotate locations and complete tasks safely.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Class 3 license required.
• Good verbal communication skills.

• Experience with confined space entry and working at heights is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including camera trucks, mobile wash, vacuum trucks, wet/dry vacuum unit and high‑pressure water blast unit.
• Perform industrial cleaning using pressure wash, high pressure, and hose truck.
• Assist camera operation for sewer inspections and pipeline flushing.
• Perform confined space entry tasks.
• Lift up to 50 lbs to set up hoses and to shovel waste material.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections and work orders accurately and on time.
• Represent the company with professional customer service to clients, vendors, and on/off the job.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and identify/report injuries, incidents and hazards to your supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor at various locations, safely and efficiently.

Key Accountabilities

• Can operate and understand the operation of equipment which includes camera truck, mobile wash, vacuum trucks, wet/dry vacuum truck unit and high-pressure water blast unit


• Perform industrial cleaning usingpressure wash, High Pressure and Hose Truck


• Perform and assist Camera Operation for entry into sewer pipes for inspection purposes and pipeline flushing


• Perform confined space entry jobs


• Lift up to 50lbs to set up and control hoses, and to shovel waste material


• Accurately complete pre and post trip inspections and work orders on time and in a legible manner


• Represent the Company by providing professional customer service to our clients, customers, vendors, both on and off the job


• Participate in monthly safety meetings and identify and report all workplace injuries, incidents and potential hazards immediately to your Supervisor


• Participate in all work related tasks as assigned by your Supervisor at a variety of locations in a safe and effective manner


• Work efficiently to meet or exceed our productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards


• Adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures


• Other duties as assigned.
