Operations Supervisor

Job Summary

Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for an Operations Supervisor. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do

Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations, including Battery Lab, Brake Development Lab, Road Test Simulation, Engineering Garage.

Plan, coordinate, and prioritize activities to meet testing objectives safely and efficiently.

Ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Be an integral part of the path to Zero Injuries.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervise experimental mechanics performing test setup, rig maintenance, and operational functions.
• Develop and modify SOPs and work instructions.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and inventory levels.
• Maintain accurate records and perform workplace inspections.
• Procure parts and materials as needed.
• Track KPI and KAI performance data.
• Maintain good relations with suppliers and internal customers.

Basics

• Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or trade designation.
• 3-5 years supervisory experience in an industrial setting, preferably unionized.
• Knowledge of automotive and electric vehicles is a plus.
• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work weekends, shifts, and occasional travel to the US.
• Position is 100% onsite.
