Job summary

Amyantek in Vaughan is seeking an Operations Supervisor/Manager to lead daily yard operations and coordinate crews in a fast-paced environment. You will be hands-on on the plant floor, ensuring safety, productivity, and timely completion of tasks, with day shifts and occasional Saturday work during learning periods.

The role emphasizes visible leadership on the floor, rapid problem solving, and collaboration with maintenance, dispatch, and management to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in operations, manufacturing, mechanical, or related fields is an asset.
• 3+ years in a supervisor or operations leadership role within manufacturing or heavy equipment environments.
• Strong understanding of heavy equipment, machinery, and yard operations.
• Hands-on leadership style; able to work directly with crews.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making in fast-paced operations.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing needs.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Mechanical aptitude or experience around industrial equipment is a strong asset.
• Experience with safety procedures and operational compliance standards preferred.

Job description

Title: Operations Supervisor / Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Location: Vaughan

• Looking for a range of 3-4 people
• Location is Head office on Keele in Vaughn
• Shift – Primarily day shift – typically these guys know that they work these hours and it would range. We may even move them around during their first 6 months to be responsible for shifts
• This role will require some Saturday shifts on top of the M-F schedule – typically in the learning period
• These candidates come from being on the plant floor (could be lead hands, supervisors, managers)
• They will be from manufacturing facilities
• Looking for someone who understands how to drive accountability on the plant floor, discipline and is strategic

IMPORTANT:

an important requirement is that they are still closely connected to the operation. Somone who is currently actively walking the floor, engaged with the day to day operation, and directly involved with their shifts and Operations teams. The role requires a leader who is visible and understands what is happening on the floor, not someone who is operating primarily from an office or at a higher level removed from the daily operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead daily yard operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Coordinate crews, equipment operators, and yard employees to maintain productivity and workflow.
• Monitor daily operations and quickly address operational, equipment, or safety issues as they arise.
• Support and enforce our client safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Ensure proper use, handling, and care of heavy equipment, machinery, and yard assets.

Equipment & Operational Support

• Develop a strong understanding of Our client equipment, machinery, and yard processes.
• Conduct routine yard walkthroughs and inspections to identify operational concerns or safety risks.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment readiness.
• Support process improvements that increase efficiency, organization, and productivity within the yard.
• Track operational performance and provide updates to management on productivity, staffing, and equipment issues.
• Lead by example with a hands‑on and proactive approach to operations.
• Provide guidance, direction, and support to yard employees and operators.
• Hold team accountable while maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
• Assist with onboarding and training new employees on operational procedures and safety expectations.
• Maintain strong communication between operations, dispatch, maintenance, and management teams.
