Job summary

DP World in Mississauga/Oakville is seeking an Experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee, plan and monitor the performance of a frontline material handling team in a high-pressure environment. You will coordinate work, train and motivate staff, ensure safe operation of equipment, and maintain daily production metrics while enforcing processes and safety standards.

The role requires supervisory experience in Automotive, Manufacturing or Logistics, strong leadership and communication skills,

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience supervising in Automotive, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain/Logistics facilities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience or training in Occupational Health & Safety, 5S, Lean Methodologies preferred.
• Knowledge of quality systems and ability to monitor staff performance and costs (time-keeping, quality, productivity).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate work, train, motivate and evaluate team performance; ensure safe operation of material handling equipment.
• Monitor and measure team performance for accuracy and document on daily production metrics.
• Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize accidents.
• Ensure compliance with processes, work instructions, standard work and work elements.
• Liaise with materials department to ensure on-time receipt and shipment of material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How you will contribute

• Plan, coordinate work, train, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of team members; ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials.
• Monitor and measure team member performance for accuracy and document on daily production metrics.
• Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents.
• Ensure compliance of employees to processes, work instructions, standard work and work elements.
• Liaise with materials department to ensure on time receipt and shipment of material.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required
• Experience supervising in an Automotive, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain/Logistics facility.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience and or training regarding the Occupational Health & Safety, 5S, Lean Methodologies preferred.
• Quality systems knowledge - to a reasonable level be able to monitor staff performance and costs within the department (including, but not limited to: time-keeping, quality, productivity, etc.)
