Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience maintaining small industrial equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to read technical documents such as specifications, manuals, P&ID’s.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Technician, you will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring efficient operation of the pilot plant.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician
  1. Assemble and install equipment, testing to ensure proper functioning.
  2. Perform maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
  3. Identify and repair issues by testing, repairing, and replacing parts.
  4. Conduct preventative maintenance to address potential problems.
  5. Operate various equipment and systems.
Qualifications for Success
  1. At least 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience maintaining small industrial equipment.
  2. Valid Alberta Journeyperson or Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in Millwright, Pipefitter, Steamfitter, or HVAC.
  3. Strong safety mindset with knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S regulations.
  4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  5. Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, power tools, forklifts, etc.
  6. Ability to read technical documents such as specifications, manuals, P&ID’s.
  7. Knowledge of maintenance practices, troubleshooting small equipment like valves and pumps.
  8. Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Work Flexibility

This role offers flexible working patterns, including a Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, in-office schedule.
