Job summary

Huckleberry's Family Restaurant in British Columbia seeks an experienced restaurant manager to lead daily operations on site. You will analyze budgets, set menus and prices, and ensure profitability while maintaining quality service.

You will recruit and train staff, schedule shifts, supervise performance, and enforce health, safety, and liquor regulations. The role requires strong communication and multitasking in a fast-paced rural setting with relocation possible.

Qualifications

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in restaurant management or supervision.
  • On-site work only at the physical location.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant's profits.
  • Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies.
  • Evaluate daily operations to improve efficiency.
  • Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the budget.
  • Monitor revenues to determine labour cost.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching.
  • Plan and organize daily operations to ensure smooth service.
  • Recruit staff and set staff work schedules.
  • Supervise and train staff to meet standards.
  • Determine service types and implement operational procedures.
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets and related forms.
  • Conduct performance reviews and cost products to optimize margins.
  • Enforce provincial liquor legislation and regulations.
  • Organize and maintain inventory control.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for food and other supplies.
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities.
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation.
  • Lead and instruct staff as needed.
  • Address customer complaints and provide excellent service.
  • Manage events and client relations.
