Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually
Position Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is a leadership role supporting the management team. This position's primary responsibility is ensuring the organizational and financial effectiveness of the branch. The Operations Manager oversees the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of each department by implementing effective strategies while adhering to customer protocol agreements. Responsibilities include monitoring revenue, expenditures, performance management, staffing needs, delegating tasks, and supporting client relationships and business growth. The role also involves attending industry functions, seminars, and courses for professional development.
Job Duties
- Improve departmental operational systems, processes, and policies to support the branch’s vision.
- Manage and enhance the effectiveness of supporting departments (HR, Marketing, Sales, Finance) through coordination and communication.
- Participate in short-term and long-term planning; drive initiatives for operational excellence.
- Review departmental processes for timely project and task completion.
- Collaborate with management to implement operational improvements and change.
- Ensure health and safety compliance across projects.
- Follow internal policies and procedures, respecting varying protocols.
- Conduct weekly operational meetings to review leads, sales, customer satisfaction, and industry updates.
- Oversee equipment assignment and tracking, including phones, laptops, vehicles, and fuel consumption.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency services as required.
- Meet deadlines under time constraints, ensuring attention to detail and safeguarding property and information.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Follow safety policies and procedures, including safe operation of equipment.
- Comply with Belfor policies, legislative requirements, and communicate job site conditions and concerns.
- Attend Belfor-sponsored training courses.
Financial Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management, planning, systems, and controls.
- Analyze monthly financials and provide insights for budget planning.
- Monitor invoicing and accounts receivable to meet project and branch goals.
Project Management
- Oversee project profitability and staffing.
- Manage lead distribution and adherence to protocols.
- Administer internal job processing systems.
- Review insurance scorecards and guidelines.
- Manage estimating standards and monitor project timelines.
- Coordinate between departments for job completion.
- Conduct contract, budget reviews, and margin analysis.
- Participate in file resolution, file closure, and compliance audits.
- Review and approve invoices and job costs.
- Monitor receivables for accountability.
Human Resources
- Support HR activities, including staffing, interviews, and training.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage performance issues.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor staff.
Marketing
- Support marketing initiatives and business development strategies.
- Attend industry events for networking and growth.
- Review and implement industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain employee confidentiality and performance management.
- Ensure safety compliance and proper documentation.
- Identify performance measures and improve actions.
- Communicate effectively with staff and clients.
- Delegate tasks, set expectations, and monitor progress.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in Project Management, Business Management, or Construction Management.
- 5+ years’ experience in construction, insurance, or restoration industries.
- 3+ years’ leadership experience.
- Experience with Xactimate and Xactanalysis is an asset.
- Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license per company policy.
- Effective communication and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- Criminal Record Check required.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting of 5-40 lbs unassisted.
- Occasional lifting over 41 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to access tight spaces and perform at heights.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
