Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule plant staff and daily operations
• Lead a team of approximately 20 employees
• Oversee production, processing, logistics, and maintenance activities
• Monitor and improve productivity, efficiency, and overall plant performance
• Track and analyze production and operational KPIs
• Monitor material flow, quality, and production targets
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and operational
• Complete and review daily production, inspection, audit, and equipment reports
• Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions and process improvements
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
• Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped with required PPE
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized plant environment
• Support staffing, scheduling, training, and employee development

THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established organization in Peterborough, Ontario. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, production, logistics, and maintenance while leading a team and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing or plant management background, a hands‑on leadership style, and the ability to work directly with employees on the floor while also managing operational performance and administrative responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong plant‑based/manufacturing background
• Previous experience supervising and managing
• Strong understanding of plant operations, production, KPIs, and maintenance
• Proven ability to drive results and meet operational targets
• Strong people‑management and communication skills
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to work directly with employees on the floor
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
• Experience creating and maintaining a strong safety culture
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
• Experience with CMMS or maintenance management software is an asset
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work fully onsite in Peterborough
