Job summary

Metrolinx in Ontario is seeking a specialist to lead operational readiness initiatives within the GO & UP Operational Readiness & Performance division. You will apply technical expertise to analyze readiness, design, construction and commissioning issues, and support safe, reliable delivery of projects and service changes.

You will mentor Project Coordinators, review engineering drawings, and develop learning plans while shaping policies and templates to improve readiness.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• Ability to interpret engineering and construction documents and drawings.
• Understanding of operational, maintenance, safety and customer requirements for infrastructure delivery.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with data-driven recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Flexibility to travel within the Metrolinx network and accommodate after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Delivers a structured readiness approach to projects and operational changes.
• Integrates readiness requirements into project plans across design, construction, testing and commissioning.
• Reviews engineering drawings, construction documents and commissioning docs for readiness.
• Assesses risks and develops mitigation actions with supporting evidence.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to determine readiness for changes.
• Defines competency requirements and develops training materials.
• Develops readiness policies, standards, tools and templates.
• Monitors readiness performance indicators and drives improvements.
• Provides day-to-day technical guidance to Project Coordinators without direct supervision.
