Job summary

Mott MacDonald Canada is seeking a Consultant to support operational readiness, activation and transition services for major infrastructure programs. You will work with clients to ensure a safe, efficient handover from construction to steady-state operations.

You will develop readiness frameworks, governance, KPIs and reporting, manage stakeholders, and contribute to business development while delivering practical, evidence-based recommendations.

Qualifications

• A post-secondary degree in engineering, business, planning, project management or another relevant discipline.
• Eight years of relevant professional experience delivering major infrastructure programs or projects.
• Experience in operational readiness, change management, project delivery, asset management or governance and assurance.
• Demonstrated experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate information into practical recommendations.
• Experience managing workplans, coordinating stakeholders and delivering to scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Familiarity with ISO 55000 and safety/regulatory processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational readiness and transition strategies for major programs.
• Create governance structures, stage gates, readiness criteria and decision-making processes.
• Conduct readiness assessments and evidence-based reporting to evaluate organizational preparedness for operational commencement.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, maturity assessments and reporting frameworks to monitor progress.
• Support change management to prepare people, processes and systems for transition into operations.
• Plan and execute readiness activities including procedures and workforce readiness.
• Coordinate acceptance, handover and transfer requirements between project delivery and operations.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks across project delivery.
• Facilitate operational exercises, emergencies, integration trials and proving activities.
• Support stakeholder engagement, workshops and interviews with diverse groups.
• Build workplans, coordinate inputs and monitor scope, schedule, budget and risks.
• Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and client materials.
• Collaborate with local, regional and global teams across disciplines.
• Support project commercial management activities and performance reporting.
• Contribute to business development through client engagement and proposals.
