Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Lethbridge is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II for the Operating Room. You will lead advanced respiratory procedures for patients under anesthesia and ensure proper anesthetic machine setup and safety.

You will educate patients and staff, develop care plans, and support protocols while coordinating with the OR team. Requires CRTA registration, BLS-HCP, and recent acute/critical care experience; OR experience and preceptor training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible CRTA registration.
• Current BLS-HCP certification; recent acute/critical care experience.
• Preferred: operating room experience; preceptor experience; preceptor training; relevant degree; ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and assess clinical respiratory services in the assigned area.
• Act as a clinical resource for daily operations and aid in protocol development.
• Develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans; monitor patient progress.
• Identify equipment needs; maintain supplies; manage respiratory equipment and QA.
• Participate in interprofessional rounds, conferences and meetings.
