Job summary

Norfolk County in Southwestern Ontario is seeking a Case Manager for Ontario Works. You will assess eligibility, identify barriers, and connect clients with resources to support stability and employment.

This temporary full-time role (35 hours/week) is based in Simcoe, with in-office duties and potential site work. Candidates need a university degree plus experience, and a valid Ontario driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Four-year honours degree or equivalent with related experience.
  • Over two years of related work experience in social services or counselling.

Responsibilities

  • Interview program participants and collect information on history, living arrangements and finances.
  • Determine initial and ongoing eligibility under the Ontario Works Act and policies.
  • Monitor ongoing eligibility and verify declared income.
  • Approve trustees for applicants under 18 and others needing trustees.
  • Develop action plans and refer to internal programs and external agencies.
  • Assess eligibility for life stabilization expenses for Ontario Works participants.
  • Record and recover overpayments and terminate cases as needed.
  • Present evidence in court in cases of fraud when required.
  • Analyze participation and impose sanctions for non-compliance.
