The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential design and construction, along with a strong commitment to customer service. This remote position requires occasional travel to the Head Office in Golden, BC, and offers the opportunity to work with both B2B and B2C clients.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven individual with construction experience and timber frame experience to join our team.

You bring strong knowledge of residential design and construction; commercial timber frame or mass timber experience to build the Ontario market share. You will use your expertise in customer service to work with each client (B2B & B2C) as you move them through the process of sales qualification, design, estimation, contract administration, production and final shipping of their timber package. Your success will only be limited by your own commitment and drive.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The primary accountability of this position is to develop and generate new business opportunities, new customers, accounts & business partners across the Ontario market. Follow through on the setting the strategy, achieving sales objectives, goals & timelines. Achieves maximum sales profitability, market growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and / or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and related services. Grow your partner network to drive repeat business & create loyalty with our company. Deliver exceptional service, knowledge and industry expertise. Personally, contacts and secures new business accounts / customers. This would be a remote job with occasional trips to the Head Office in Golden, BC.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory to meet / exceed sales goals.
  • At the beginning of each month, establish realistic prospecting, sales action plan to achieve monthly objectives.
  • Forecast following month’s sales & pipeline activities.
  • Monitor daily performance and compare it with that month's objective.
  • Making every effort to maximize both present and long term sales and gross profits.
  • Service customers & leads as required in support of exceeding sales targets & moving clients / builders along our project activity milestones.
  • Proactively prospect new clients and new business partnerships through market research, outreach with warm & old calling / daily; monthly to achieve monthly prospecting objectives.
  • Google new industry partners that are aligned to our business.
  • Send introductory emails to new partners / prospects.
  • Phone call follow ups to get face to face meetings.
  • Build our database with key industry partners.
  • Maintain reporting sources for developing prospective customers, database development and for information to determine their potential.
  • Manage database for region, responsible for keeping contact records up to date; clean data & following proper database rules for consistency of approach.
  • Responsible for developing & maintain strong positive relationships with CTF staff & coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, design, shop floor & logistics.
  • Analyze the territory / market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers – channels and markets value to the organization.
  • Identify advantages and compare organization’s products / services against competition – finds and creates unique value proposition.
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory / region.
  • Each fall prepare a territory plan for the following year to achieve / exceed objectives.
  • Prepare in advance and proactively schedule regular sales meetings with the President.
  • Work to improve your sales skills, managerial skills, business skills and product knowledge.

MONTHLY OBJECTIVES (ex of what you will be measured on) :

Sales Target : First year - $2M Annual Target.

New clients / builders you added to the database : 200 / year or 6 / week.

Relationships moved from A to AA; AA to AAA : 12 / year or 1 / month.

B2C testimonials you captured this month : 1 / Quarter.

B2B testimonials you captured this month : 1 / Quarter.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Understanding about their market and competitors' products.

5-7+ years of being at the top of your field; industry specific sale experience or related experience necessary.

Experience with aligning expectations & exceeding them with sophisticated, educated buyers; luxury brands.

Proven track record in managing regions and consistently exceeding sales objectives.

Strong understanding of customer (both B2B & B2C) and market dynamics and requirements.

Proven leadership qualities with good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build loyal relationships & develop new business markets.

Proven organizational and analytical skills.

Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.

Able to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment.

Good negotiation skills and persuasiveness.

Brings initiative, passion and enterprise.
