Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mining Sector Representative in Ontario to lead growth in the Environmental Services mining practice. The role combines project leadership with strategic business development, collaborating with BCPLs and the Mining Sector Leader to grow Ontario's mining portfolio.

You will split time between technical leadership and business development, working with multi-disciplinary teams on baseline studies, feasibility work, and implementation of field investigations.

Qualifications

• University degree with at least 15 years of professional experience.
• Existing professional registration (P.Geo or P.Eng.) if applicable to your area of technical expertise.
• Experience leading environmental support for mining projects of significant size and/or complexity, ideally in Ontario.
• Experience building and maintaining productive relationships with colleagues, clients, agencies, and Indigenous communities.
• Seasoned project delivery experience, ideally in consulting services.
• Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods; field work may occur.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a mining sector growth strategy with ES colleagues.
• Lead the Ontario Environmental Services mining team (Business Centre 1609).
• Drive client outreach internally and externally.
• Coordinate proposal development, debriefs, backlog tracking, and client surveys.
• Host client events and attend industry conferences or trade shows.
• Support BCPLs with business plans and KPIs; align with leadership on priorities.
• Coordinate with Energy and Resources (Mining) BU on opportunities.
• Contribute to national Environmental Services strategy with Ontario focus.
• Track revenue growth and progress using reports and action registers.
• Mentor junior and intermediate staff for responses to proposals and client liaison.
• Engage in technical project work and lead projects within area of expertise.
• Design and oversee field investigations and preparation of technical reports and client presentations.
• Travel as required to field sites with occasional overnight stays.
