Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mining Practitioner to lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for mining projects across Ontario. You will direct multi-disciplinary teams, liaise with clients and regulators, and drive closure solutions from concept through completion.

The role emphasizes senior leadership, business development, and strong knowledge of mining regulations, with opportunities to work from multiple Ontario offices and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience focusing on mining.
• Experience leading EAs and permitting processes for large/complex mining projects.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario and federal mining-related acts, regulations, policies and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental permitting, regulatory compliance and closure solutions for mining clients.
• Drive multi-disciplinary scopes of work within engineering and technical teams.
• Interact directly with clients and regulators to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Manage projects including scheduling, health and safety, subcontractors, budgets, QA/QC.
