Job summary

Saskatchewan Cancer Agency is seeking a Clinical Oncology Social Worker to provide psychosocial support to patients and families at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre. The role involves assessment, counseling and education within the Supportive Care department.

The incumbent will participate in interdisciplinary team activities, contribute to program education, and uphold professional standards with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Social Work or Indigenous Social Work.
• Three (3) years supervised counseling experience in psychosocial oncology or related field.
• Two (2) years experience with Master’s Degree in Social Work or Indigenous Social Work may be considered.
• Membership with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment, intervention and counseling to patients and families.
• Participate in department education programs and adopt an interdisciplinary model.
• Demonstrate knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
