Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority's Saskatoon Cancer Centre seeks a Clinical Oncology Social Worker to provide psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment and counseling to patients and families within Supportive Care.

Reporting to the site leader, you will participate in education programs, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and deliver culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people in a fast paced cancer setting.

Qualifications

• 3 years supervised counseling experience in psychosocial oncology or related field.
• 2 years’ experience and a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Indigenous Social Work may be considered.
• Membership with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment, intervention and counseling to patients and families.
• Participate in department education programs and adopt an interdisciplinary model.
• Collaborate with health care teams to deliver culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
• Develop and present education programs to patients and health care workers.
