Aecon Group Inc. is looking for an Onboarding Trainer to support Bruce Power projects in Kincardine, Ontario. In this role, you will develop, deliver, and manage training programs, ensuring compliance with EHS Management System and legislative requirements.

You will be responsible for training project employees on various Environmental Health and Safety programs and promoting a safety culture. The ideal candidate will have relevant education and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Health and Safety training.

Job description

Onboarding Trainer – Bruce Power Projects

Reports to the Onboarding Manager and is responsible for supporting the development, delivery, evaluation, and ongoing management of training programs common to Bruce Power projects. The role works with project teams to identify training needs, plan, coordinate, and deliver core training programs to meet EHS Management System, onboarding department, project, client, and legislative requirements.

Location

Shoreline Power Group, Kincardine, Ontario.

Responsibilities
  • Train project employees on a variety of Environmental Health and Safety programs such as Work at Heights, Hoisting and Rigging, Confined Space Entry, First Aid, Elevating Work Platform, Forklift Operation, Human Performance, Supervisor, Personal Protective Equipment, and more, including all required tracking and documentation.
  • Provide timely feedback to management and supervisors regarding employee competency related to training programs.
  • Participate in training team meetings and training-related projects.
  • Promote a nuclear safety culture that supports continuous improvement in the EHS management system through active communication, participation, and skill development.
  • Support Human Performance program activities and act as an advocate for Human Performance.
  • Act as a technical resource for jurisdictional Occupational Health & Safety Acts, Regulations, and applicable standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Relevant post‑secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Provincial OHS legislation, construction and industrial regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience using adult education practices and principles (e.g., ADDIE, adult learning theory).
  • Experience in the nuclear industry and with Human Performance programs is an asset.
  • Train the Trainer qualifications in programs such as Work at Heights, Confined Space Entry. WHMIS, First Aid, etc., are considered an asset.
  • Designation such as NCSO considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety and training/facilitating within the construction industry is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for developing, adjusting, and managing training programs and creating reports or presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and positively influence behaviors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player who accepts and manages change regularly.
Compensation

Salary range: $85,000 – $100,000. Individual pay is based on factors including work location, education, experience, and specific job conditions.
