Job summary

St Marys Cement, part of VCNA, is seeking an on-site Human Resources Generalist at the Bowmanville Cement Plant. You will provide day-to-day HR support across employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, attendance and records administration.

You will partner with plant leadership, union representatives and Corporate HR to ensure a compliant, safe and productive workplace. Salary ranges from CAD 75,000 to 90,000 with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in HR, Labour Relations, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in unionized manufacturing or cement.
• Knowledge of SAP, Dayforce, Kronos, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Serves as advisor on employment law, union agreements and workplace policies.
• Develops and maintains harmonious relationships across departments.
• Coaches managers on performance management and disciplines.
• Provides front-line support for employee and labour relations matters.
• Builds relationships with union reps and supports bargaining prep.
• Partners with Safety to reinforce safe-work expectations and training.
