Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in Picton, Ontario, is hiring an HR Generalist for a 3-6 month maternity leave coverage at the Picton Cement plant. This on-site role reports to the Human Resources Director and supports HR strategy, processes, and policies across the site.

You will lead full-cycle HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, investigations, and employee relations while partnering with management to improve engagement and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent plus HR work experience.
• Labour relations experience preferred.
• Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal employment legislation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, SAP, or JDE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in regional HR initiatives and lead designated special projects.
• Execute full-cycle HRBP activities (recruiting, onboarding, investigations, training compliance, employee relations).
• Partner with management to address HR needs and labour relations matters.
• Provide on-site support to management and employees.
• Support leave and accommodation processes and improve employee engagement.
