Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a Cost Controller to manage the cost control system for the project scope. You will handle budget preparation, forecasting expenditures, and tracking costs with high accuracy on a site-based project in Chalk River, Ontario.

You will coordinate cost-related processes, prepare estimates for changes, monitor forecasts, and ensure accurate reporting. Strong Excel/MS Office and 4castplus/InEight experience are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Certified cost professional through AACE or actively pursuing certification or an associated diploma/degree in cost management.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar cost-control role.
• 4castplus experience is essential.
• Experience with InEight software is a significant asset.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; strong understanding of project management systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate budget development at each phase of the project and align with current standards.
• Create timely cost estimates for changes and scope variations.
• Monitor and update cost estimates to keep within expected ranges.
• Develop cash flow and report actual vs. planned expenditures on a schedule.
• Manage work orders and purchase orders for project overheads and track labour costs.
