Job summary

Bird is seeking a Cost Controller for Mississauga, Ontario, to manage the project cost control system, including budget preparation, forecasting expenditures, and reporting costs with accuracy. The role requires on-site presence in Mississauga with occasional travel to Pickering and Darlington, Ontario.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in a similar role, an AACE certification or pursuing it, and strong Excel/MS Office skills. Experience with InEight is a significant asset for this role.

Qualifications

• Certified cost professional or actively pursuing certification.
• 5+ years of cost control or similar experience.
• InEight software experience is a significant asset.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate budget development for each project phase.
• Create cost estimates for project changes and scope.
• Monitor and update cost estimates to keep costs within expected ranges.
• Develop cash flow and report actual vs. planned expenditures monthly, weekly, and daily.
• Allocate project costs to capital projects per guidelines.
• Manage invoices and timesheets for accurate forecasting.
