Job summary

The City of Calgary is seeking a Senior Business Strategist to drive the development and ongoing evaluation of multi-year strategies, governance frameworks, and executive reporting for the Occupational Health and Safety Business Unit.

You will lead strategy execution, partner alignment and risk management through cross-functional collaboration and ongoing evaluation. A degree in business/public administration and 5+ years of strategic experience are required; Calgary relocation may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in developing and advancing organizational strategies, governance, and multi-year plans.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Master's degree would be an asset.
  • PMI/ Six Sigma/ CMC are assets.
  • Experience with change management and ADKAR principles is an asset.
  • Experience in OHS context is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and ongoing evaluation of multi-year strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Create action plans and executive reporting to support organizational effectiveness and risk management.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to translate priorities into strategic initiatives and change activities.
  • Identify opportunities, inform decision-making and advance priorities.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities across business units and influence strategic decisions.
