THE ROLE AND IMPACT:

The Officer, Events will workalongside the Events and Community Fundraising Team (National andThird Party) as well as internal stakeholders to support fundraisingthrough the execution of CF Canada and third party event activity.

The Officer, Events will, first and foremost, be a fundraiserwith strong planning and event management skills including logistics,program delivery, volunteer engagement and stewardship. This role isresponsible for managing the execution of national or third-partyevents, ensuring fundraising and recruitment targets are met. Thisvaried role will support a mix of fundraisers and donors who supportCF Canada through one of our National Events (The Walk To Make CysticFibrosis History, Lawn Summer Nights, Worldwide Trek or Shinerama) orthrough our Third-Party and DIY program (ChangeMakers).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH:

Event Management

  • Manage a portfolio of event or third-party fundraisersbased on specific streams (i.E Shinerama, DIY, Golf, Gaming orNational Events).
  • Responsible for project management andexecution of event activity including logistics (permits and localplanning), utilizing, and following planning tools (critical paths),recruitment (participants and volunteers), budget and volunteermanagement, Health, and Safety at events.
  • Key point ofcontact for fundraisers, providing engagement and support on anongoing basis. Support the coaching of volunteers and participantswith fundraising ideas and advice to reach their goals.
  • Build and deploy surveys and debriefs, supporting theanalysis of post activity campaigns.
  • Develop innovativeideas to enhance events and programs, including collateral andmaterials which are consistent with brand standards and key messaging.
  • Support volunteer/committee recruitment and onboarding.
  • Support with website inquiries for events including mailboxmanagement (triaging messages and adhering to timely SLAs).
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with local eventpartners, vendors, sponsors, and participants. Work closely with theOfficer, Fundraising and Stewardship to execute on stewardshipjourneys for the portfolio.
  • Attend events (across Canadawhere needed) to support local execution.
  • Report onevent/activity budget, providing monthly commentary onfundraising/metric performance to the Senior Manager/Senior Director.
  • Monitor incoming funds in relation to relevantevents/activities.
  • Support fundraising growth throughrelationship management of donors and participants fromthird-party/events.
  • Create and implement acquisition plansfor event donors.
  • Work in collaboration with internal teamsacross CF to ensure sponsorship benefits are met and post-eventdebriefs are provided in a timely manner for sponsors.
  • Achieve event revenue targets through maximizing eventparticipation, donations, GIK donations and sponsorship.

Marketing and Comms

  • Develop and deploy e-communications to participants.
  • Develop and curate fundraising content for social media basedon events/supporter stories.
  • Develop tools and materials tosupport fundraising and participation in national events (digital)and/or third-party (DIY) fundraising.
  • Manage participantregistrations for CrowdChange (or other CRM platforms) and providelocal volunteer team support.
  • Creation of stewardship/commscalendar for both participants and volunteers.

Other

  • Maintain consistent andaccurate data in Raisers Edge
  • Maintain knowledge offundraising best practices in Canada
  • Represent CysticFibrosis Canada at various meetings and fundraising events whenneeded.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 2-3 years of fundraising experience with aproven track record of achieving fundraising goals;
    working onmultiple properties with different teams.
  • Experience workingon multiple fundraising events and the ability to multi-task withcompeting and changing priorities.
  • Experience with volunteermanagement and working with volunteer committees.
  • Strongproject management skills:
    An understanding of how to analyzedata and metrics.
  • Strong communication skills (written andverbal);
    including email copy writing.
  • Exceptionalcustomer service and relationship management skills (diplomacy,discretion, and tact), with the ability to respond to various levelsof expectations from a variety of stakeholders.
  • Acooperative team player able to work independently, using initiative.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications(including SharePoint), databases (Raisers Edge & CrowdChange anasset) as well as graphic programs (ex:
    Canva, InDesign).
  • Fluency in French communication skills (verbal and written)are an asset.
  • Valid drivers’ licence and access to areliable vehicle is an asset
  • French language skills are anasset
