Job summary

Kemptville District Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a casual and temporary part-time role. The successful candidate will contribute to pre-hab teaching, patient assessments, and in-patient follow-up for joint replacement patients, with strong communication and computer skills.

The position requires MoCA certification, CPR, and eligibility for College of Occupational Therapists registration, plus a willingness to collaborate with a small rural team in a community setting.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Occupational Therapy required.
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists.
  • MoCA trained and certified.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Experience with total joint replacement including pre-hab teaching and in-patient follow-up.
  • Wheelchair, positioning, ambulation authorizer with Assistive Devices Program.
  • CAOT/OSOT membership preferred.
  • Swallowing assessment training required.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.

Occupational Therapist – Casual and Temporary Part-Time

KDH is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team on a Casual and Temporary Part-Time basis.

In addition to the Hospital’s requirements for commitment to the Mission and Philosophy of Care the following are requirements for this position:

Qualifications:
  • B.Sc. Occupational Therapy;
  • Member of the College of Occupational Therapists;
  • Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) trained and certified;
  • Current CPR certificate;
  • Recent experience with total joint replacement surgery including pre-hab teaching, assessment and in-patient follow-up;
  • Wheelchair, positioning, ambulation authorizer with Assistive Devices Program;
  • Preferred member of CAOT and OSOT;
  • Swallowing assessment training (required);
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and be proficient in the use of a computer;
Starting Wage:

$42.51/hour
