Job summary

Centre for Autism Services Alberta (CFASA) seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist to develop, implement and monitor neurodiversity‑affirming supports in activities of daily living and motor skills. You will join a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with families to promote participation and independence.

The role requires travel within Calgary and surrounding areas, with evening work to meet family needs.

Qualifications

• Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

This is a full-time position based on a flexible Monday to Friday schedule. As many of our services are provided after school and at times that best meet family needs, regular evening work is required.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of neurodiversity‑affirming supports in the areas of activities of daily living (e.g., self‑help skills) and motor skills, in alignment with the Centre's values and philosophical framework.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team by providing occupational therapy expertise.
• Select and conduct standardized and non‑standardized assessments to support diagnostic services and guide clinical practice.
• Deliver evidence‑informed practices in naturalistic, person‑directed settings.
• Use evidence‑based coaching models to build capacity in family members and community organizations.
• Develop and facilitate community‑based workshops.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with individuals, families, and community organizations.
• Promote and support inclusive programming across home, and community environments.
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain service records within required timelines.
• Travel throughout Calgary and surrounding areas (mileage compensation provided).

Qualifications

• Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, decision‑making, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Current professional liability insurance.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
• Satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
