Job summary

Aspire Child Development Centre (Aspire) is seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to support neurodivergent children across Central Alberta. The role emphasizes consultation and assessment with opportunities for direct intervention in schools and homes.

You will work with children aged 2-18, building communication, motor, sensory skills and daily living activities while partnering with families and school teams. A supportive team and flexible schedule foster work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Registered OT with Alberta registration or eligible for registration.
  • Experience with neurodivergent children preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Consultation, assessment and intervention for neurodivergent children.
  • Collaborate with families, teachers and school staff.
  • Develop and implement individual program plans and reports.
  • Provide direct therapy when appropriate in home, school or community settings.

Position: Registered Occupational Therapist (OT)

Pay: $65 422-$107 738 annual salary


Aspire Child Development Centre (Aspire) is seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting neurodivergent children and values collaboration, flexibility, and growth. This role focuses primarily on consultation and assessment, with opportunities for direct intervention, serving children in schools and homes throughout Central Alberta.

About the Role

You will work with children aged 2-18 years, supporting their communication development while partnering closely with families and school teams. This position offers variety, autonomy, and clinical support


Your Role at Aspire


  • Support neurodivergent children through consultation, assessment, and intervention

  • Build capacity with parents, teachers, and school staff

  • Support children and families in developing skills and understanding in the following areas of motor skills, sensory regulation, interoceptive awareness, activities of daily living, and play, in home, school, and community settings

  • Develop individual program plans and support implementation

  • Provide practical, strength-based strategies to promote child development

  • Complete standardized assessments, screening tools, and written reports

  • Collaborate with families and educational teams to support identified goals

  • Deliver direct therapy when appropriate


Your Strengths and Experience


  • Experience working with children in the areas of motor skills, sensory regulation, interoception, activities of daily living, and play skill development

  • Knowledge of best practices and current research, particularly related to autism spectrum disorder

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic workload

  • Willingness to contribute to the growth of the team

  • Excellent knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office 365 and database applications


Qualifications


  • Registered occupational therapist in Alberta, or eligible for registration

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

  • Experience working withneurodivergent children (experience level flexible – mentorship available)


Schedule and Work Environment


  • Flexible Monday to Friday schedule

  • Christmas break and spring break off

  • Reduced summer hours, with ongoing regular pay

  • Aspire operates 8:30-4:30, Monday to Friday


Aspire is located in Red Deer, Alberta and is nicely situated between Calgary and Edmonton – offering the benefits of a smaller city with easy access to major centres.
