Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to support children with diverse needs at BrightPath centres across Calgary. The role focuses on promoting independence, development, and participation in daily activities, working closely with families and educators.

The successful candidate will maintain licensure, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to program quality initiatives while traveling to centres throughout Calgary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain license and certification requirements per ACOT guidelines.

• Monitor and evaluate progress of intervention plans and adjust as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, plans, and progress notes.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies.
• Contribute to program development and clinical quality initiatives.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain license and certification requirements, adhering to ethical standards and guidelines set forth by professional organizations such as the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
• Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to create supportive and effective environments for the child
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of intervention plans, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, intervention plans, and progress notes
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization
• Contribute to program development and clinical quality initiatives for the organization

Qualifications/Required

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Registered member, in good standing with the ACOT.
• Specialization or experience in pediatric occupational therapy preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to positively impact the lives of the families we serve.
• Valid Alberta driver’s license, access to a vehicle during work hours, and willingness to drive to BrightPath centers throughout Calgary.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
• School year contract position. Must have their own insurance.
