The Nurse Practitioner will work in the Emergency Department of the Lakes District Hospital and Health Care Centre. This position involves working alongside the clinical team in a collaborative environment.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions. They initiate treatment plans, including healthcare management, therapeutic interventions, and medication prescriptions, in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards, employer policies, and procedures. They provide guidance to other health professionals and practice autonomously within an interdisciplinary team, making referrals to specialists as needed.

The role involves collaborating with patients and other health professionals to identify health trends, develop population health strategies, and participate in policy-making activities. The Nurse Practitioner also engages in peer review and self-evaluation to assess service outcomes at individual, community, and population levels.

Compensation (2024-2025 Salary Target Rate):

  • New Grad: $145,739
  • One Year of Experience: $153,026
  • Two Years of Experience: $160,313
