Job Summary
Bring your clinical expertise, dedication, and passion for providing quality and compassionate care to a challenging and rewarding role as an Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) in team-based and consultative care at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) in New Westminster, B.C.. We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join our Electrophysiology Consult Service team. This model is a collaborative, co-managed, team-based approach where Electrophysiologists remain the primary or consulting physicians for patients. The NP works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, providing consultative care to ensure safe, quality, and effective treatment. The position is Monday to Wednesday (9.375 hours/day), excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
Royal Columbian Hospital, as B.C.’s oldest and one of its busiest, offers specialized acute care services including cardiology, cardiac surgery, electrophysiology, and more, often involving multidisciplinary teams and advanced technology. Located in New Westminster, known for its waterfront views along the Fraser River, it is only about 30 minutes from Vancouver and the US border.
Residency Opportunity
This program offers a unique postgraduate experience to elevate your skills and transition into independent practice. During residency, you will receive advanced training, build team collaborations, develop patient-centered care approaches, benefit from mentorship, clinical supervision, and self-directed learning. In-house rotations include Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, and various Heart Function clinics. You will also participate in skills development such as ECG interpretation, Point of Care ultrasound, suturing, and x-ray interpretation, supported by a community of practice.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing, initiating treatments, prescribing medications, and providing guidance within an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include monitoring ongoing care, collaborating with physicians, developing treatment plans, prescribing drugs, supervising staff, participating in research, and engaging in policy development.
Qualifications
Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), recent clinical experience, and competencies in communication, collaboration, research evaluation, population health, leadership, and ethical practice.
