The salary range for this position is CAD $59.56 - $85.62 / hour

Job Summary
Bring your clinical expertise, dedication, passion for providing quality and compassionate care to a challenging and rewarding role as a team-based locum Nurse Practitioner. This position will support Nurse Practitioners in the Fraser Northwest Surgical Acute care areas including Royal Columbian Hospital, Burnaby Hospital, and Eagle Ridge Hospital.

Royal Columbian Hospital provides expert care to the province’s most seriously ill or injured, offering specialized acute services such as trauma, cardiac, neurosurgery, and more. Burnaby Hospital is a large community hospital providing primary and secondary acute care, including emergency services, general medicine, surgery, and outpatient clinics. Eagle Ridge Hospital offers primary and secondary acute care with services like emergency, diagnostics, and outpatient care.

We are currently looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join us in a locum capacity working with the Surgical teams across the Fraser Health Region. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within your scope; write treatment and medication orders; provide first-line emergency care.
  • Monitor ongoing care, order diagnostics, interpret reports, and plan treatment.
  • Prioritize health management, provide follow-up, and counsel patients and families.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals; develop and implement treatment plans; admit/discharge patients as per policies.
  • Prescribe drugs within statutory, regulatory, and organizational policies.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and educate nursing and healthcare staff; participate in research and policy development.
  • Implement screening and health promotion activities for populations at risk.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary education, develop policies, and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with BCCNM; recent relevant clinical experience.
