Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking an Enterostomal Therapist Educator for Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. This full-time temporary role involves patient education and care within the Ostomy & Wound Resource Team, with partnerships across families, physicians, nurses and community services.

The position requires ET therapy certification, BScN, and BLS, with a focus on program development, teaching and quality improvement in a hospital setting.

Qualificações

• Experience developing/implementing/evaluating programs/resources
• Nurses with Enterostomal Therapy certification or equivalent training
• Active BLS certification required

Responsabilidades

• Provide in-patient education and care for Enterostomal Therapy patients.
• Liaise with families, physicians, staff nurses and community agencies.
• Provide individual outpatient treatment and education for patients and families.
• Promote continuing staff nurse involvement in patient education through effective communication and resource development.
• Participate in program administration including planning, quality improvement and evaluation.
• Participate in research and evaluation projects.

Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Enterostomal Therapy, the responsibilities of the Enterostomal Therapist Educator will include: provide in-patient education and care for Enterostomal Therapy Patients. This will include liaison with families, physicians, staff nurses, and community agencies. Provide individual outpatient treatment and education for patients and families. Promote continuing staff nurse involvement in patient education through effective communication, development of resource materials, and provision of inservice education. Participate in program administration (program development, planning, quality improvement and evaluation). Participate in research and evaluation projects.
