Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Nuclear Fabrication Robotic Welding Technician to lead robotic welding activities for the Darlington New Nuclear Project in Ontario. You will oversee fabrication production, improve safety, quality, and productivity, and support production staff and operations.

The role requires hands‑on robotics programming experience, familiarity with Fanuc systems, and knowledge of welding codes. You will collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement and deliver results on

Qualifications

  • Requires college or university degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands‑on robotic programming experience.
  • Knowledge of welding codes (ASME/CWB/AWS) is an asset.
  • Strong background in programming robotic and automated welding systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee nuclear fabrication production and drive safety, quality and productivity improvements.
  • Troubleshoot robotic welding systems and production issues; support staff.
  • Maintain spare parts stock for robotic devices, sensors, and tools.
  • Coordinate with quality inspectors to enable robotic inspection activities.
  • Generate project status reports for management and customers; assist budget/forecast accuracy.
