Job summary

Bird Construction seeks a Director, Nuclear in Ajax, Ontario to lead strategic direction and overall performance of nuclear programs and projects. Based in Ajax with travel to project sites, client offices, and nuclear facilities as required, you will ensure execution aligns with contractual obligations, nuclear quality programs, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in construction, EPC, infrastructure, industrial, or nuclear environments, including senior leadership roles.
• Experience managing large-scale projects or programs with full accountability for financial performance and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead workforce planning, organizational structuring, and team development for nuclear projects.
• Provide leadership and performance oversight to project teams, stressing safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, quality, and project controls to meet cost, schedule, and quality goals.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, nuclear site procedures, and regulatory expectations.
• Manage client relationships and support business development within the nuclear sector.
