Job summary

Bird is seeking a Modification Team Lead, Nuclear in Ontario to lead engineering and field execution on critical nuclear construction projects. Based near Pickering, you will coordinate with project managers, construction teams, suppliers, and client reps to ensure safe, on-time delivery while complying with regulatory requirements.

You will oversee design service providers, manage RFI flow, develop maintenance strategies, and drive commissioning readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Nuclear engineering.
Eligible for Engineers-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
3–8 years of project engineering, coordination, construction, or engineering in industrial, infrastructure, energy, or nuclear environments.
Experience with regulated nuclear facilities (OPG, Bruce Power, CNL) is a plus.
Knowledge of design, procurement, construction, and project delivery processes.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

Coordinate between Bird, Owner/Customer, and design teams across the project lifecycle.
Oversee Design Service Provider on projects involving subcontracted design services.
Coordinate assessment of execution scope within Owner/Customer work management systems.
Support field execution with installation and commissioning planning and oversight.
Manage RFIs and ensure final drawings reflect field changes.
Drive safety, quality, and timely turnover to the Owner/Customer.
