Job summary

Kinectrics Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Piping Design) for its Design and Engineering Services team in Pickering, Ontario.

The role involves supporting OPG and Waste Management projects with mechanical analysis, piping design, and field support in a nuclear environment. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams, interface with procurement and construction, and ensure design integrity from concept through close-out.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of CANDU technology and nuclear power plant design and operation.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in related fields.
• General knowledge of SMRs, BWRs/PWRs and advanced reactors is an asset.
• Piping and process systems design, flow diagrams, and isometric drawings.
• Familiar with nuclear components procurement and GD&T practices.
• P.Eng designation or pursuit is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering analysis and design for Candu nuclear power stations.
• Interface with construction, procurement partners, and utility stakeholders through all design phases.
• Provide field engineering support for multidisciplinary plant modifications and on-site needs.
• Develop engineering solutions for client technical problems and refurbishment projects.
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines and maintain CSA/ASME knowledge.
• Support compliance with Nuclear QA standards and engineering change control.
