Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze CANDU reactor components, systems and structures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex nuclear projects.

The role includes engineering calculations, formal reports, design reviews and QA adherence, with growth in a highly technical environment. Ontario EIT/PE eligibility, FE analysis (ANSYS) and programming (Python/MATLAB) are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Eligible for Professional Engineer in Ontario or registered as EIT.
• 3–5 years in design and analysis of complex mechanical systems.
• Experience in classical stress calculation.
• Experience with finite element analysis (ANSYS/APDL).
• Programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
• Familiarity with ASME Section III and CSA N285.0 is an asset.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems and structures.
• Engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components.
• Preparation of formal technical reports.
• Review of design documents, calculations and analysis reports.
• Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule.
• Provide accurate reporting to project managers.
• Provide prompt responses and engineering resolutions on critical matters.
• Follow QA programs and applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate with client, suppliers and other design disciplines.
