Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of CANDU nuclear process systems in Ontario. You will perform piping layout, stress analyses, and detailed design under a P.Eng. supervision, interfacing with clients and multiple design disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in heavy industrial environments, experience with PipeStress/CeasarII/AutoPIPE, and knowledge of CSA/ASME codes, aiming to advance in a multidisciplinary nuclear engineering team.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or equivalent recognized by PEO.
• Registered as an Engineer-In-Training or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (mandatory).
• 2–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in heavy industries (nuclear, mining, oil & gas, etc.).
• Experience in stress analysis using PipeStress, CeasarII, AutoPipe, MATLAB, MathCAD, ANSYS (APDL/Workbench), or LS DYNA is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work following QA programs, codes, standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines.
• Involve in conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed design of CANDU or Nuclear process systems under supervision of a P.Eng.
• Prepare engineering computations and analyses using applicable software.
• Prepare Design Change Packages (DCP) and Design Change Notices (DCN).
• Prepare technical documents, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Support field construction and commissioning activities.
