BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, ON is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Pressure Boundary & Analysis. The role oversees design and analysis of pressure-retaining systems for CANDU reactors, with emphasis on safety, code compliance, and collaboration across engineering teams.

Required: B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in a regulated design environment; CAD/FEA tool proficiency; willingness to work onsite in Peterborough with potential short-term remote support.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering and professional licensing progression.
• Experience with design and analysis in highly regulated industries.
• Experience with CAD/FEA tools and piping/pressure boundary components.

Responsibilities

• Execute design/analysis/test activities across product life cycle.
• Prepare technical docs, drawings, BOMs, specs and test plans.
• Perform 3D modeling for conceptual design and stress analysis.
• Apply DFMA principles to designs and assemblies.
• Support CAD, procurement, manufacturing, testing and service teams.
• Participate in design reviews and present technical data.
• Use classical and FEA methods for stress analysis of components.
• Maintain knowledge of Canadian nuclear codes and standards.
• Ensure safety, quality and project milestones meet targets.
