Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is a leading Canadian engineering group with a focus on the nuclear sector. This role sits in the Modularization & Constructability team, requiring independent work and career development in the nuclear field.

The candidate will oversee constructability tasks, prepare technical docs, and coordinate with clients and suppliers to deliver pre-assembly and construction packages for CANDU projects. A P.Eng. license and nuclear experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

Engineering Degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or equivalent as recognized by PEO.
P.Eng. license required for this position.
ASME Appendix XXIII is an asset.
Minimum 8 years of related work experience incl. 3 years field engineering in heavy industrial env.
Preassembly/offsite work experience is required; nuclear experience is an asset.
Design engineering in nuclear piping systems, valves, pumps for nuclear plants is an asset.
Experience with AutoPipe, MATLAB, MathCAD, ANSYS, LS-DYNA or similar software is an asset.
Site experience in construction/commissioning of plant mechanical systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis QA programs and applicable codes and standards.
Coordinate with clients, suppliers, stakeholders and design teams to execute constructability work.
Involve in conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of CANDU off-site pre-assembly and construction packages.
Develop construction methods and sequences for nuclear equipment and piping skids.
Develop plans for off-site pre-fabrication, pre-assembly, transport and installation.
Review drawings, constructability reports and procedures.
Develop constructability and risk assessment reports for preassemblies.
Prepare engineering drawings, calculations and data sheets.
Lead small or large teams of engineers and designers when required.
Perform site visits to client and supplier shops; field walk-downs during design phases.
