Job summary

Aecon Concessions is seeking a Drafting Manager to lead the drafting function for complex nuclear projects in Cambridge, Ontario. You will oversee drafting personnel, set priorities, and ensure high-quality drawings align with project requirements and safety standards.

In this role you will drive drafting standards, manage workload across multiple projects, and coordinate with Engineering, Construction, and Procurement teams to support fabrication, installation and turnover activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil/Structural Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive drafting/design experience in engineering, construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with CAD and 3D modelling tools listed above and strong document control practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor drafting staff, designers, and external resources.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign drafting work to meet project schedules.
• Develop and maintain drafting standards, templates, and drawing controls.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Fabrication, Construction, Quality, Procurement, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with codes.
• Monitor deliverables, identify schedule risks, and take corrective actions.
• Support drawing registers, revision tracking, and documentation control.
