Job summary

ALTEN Canada is seeking an experienced professional to support nuclear concrete construction for the SMR project in Ontario. The role focuses on concrete mix designs, QA to ACI/CSA standards, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure design basis documentation and ITPs are robust.

The candidate should have extensive concrete construction experience, knowledge of CSA/ACI codes, and be eligible for export-control clearance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in concrete construction, testing, and material testing.
• Strong knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 349, and CSA standards (A23.1, A23.2, N291, N287).
• Nuclear construction industry experience, eligible for export control clearance.
• Ability to review and approve concrete-related engineering and construction documents.
• Experience with FMEA, containment pressure testing, aging management (nice-to-have).
• Knowledge of ASME Section III Div. 1/2 and XI Division 1 (nice-to-have).
• Containment liner design/evaluation experience (nice-to-have).
• Knowledge of concrete NDT and repair techniques (nice-to-have).

Responsibilities

• Support nuclear construction for the SMR project, focusing on concrete mix designs and QA against codes/standards.
• Review and approve concrete mix designs, batch plant/constructors’ submittals, material/specifications.
• Prepare and review ITPs, Concrete Construction Plans, Thermal Control Plans, and technical procedures.
• Coordinate with stakeholders; respond to RFIs, FDCRs, and non-conformance reports.
• Support concrete construction activities and maintain design basis documents.
