Job summary

Ruth & Naomi’s Mission in Chilliwack, BC is seeking a Finance Coordinator for a full-time maternity leave contract (~12 months). You will manage full-cycle accounts payable, rent receivables, and grant/project accounting, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with funding agreements.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will set up and maintain general ledger accounts, support month-end close, and collaborate with program leaders to allocate expenses correctly while identifying process

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of progressive accounting experience (AP/AR).
• Experience with QuickBooks Online including classes and projects.
• Strong Excel skills and solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting, grant management, and project reporting preferred.
• Ability to interpret funding agreements for expense allocation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, vendor records, payments, and reconciliations.
• Oversee rent receivables for housing programs and coordinate with BC Housing and leadership.
• Review funding agreements and set up/general ledger projects in QuickBooks Online; allocate expenses to grants/projects.
