Job summary

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saskatoon Centre welcomes a Night Auditor to balance and close daily operations, ensuring a seamless transition to the next day and guest safety. The role includes assisting guests during after-hours arrivals, managing nightly reports, and handling cash with accuracy.

Evening shifts from 11:00pm to 7:00am are expected, with weekend work and potential occasional day or evening shifts as needed. A focus on teamwork and hospitality is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work evenings from 11:00pm to 7:00am including weekends and holidays.
  • Minimum of one-year front desk experience.
  • Previous Front Office experience required.
  • Must speak, read, write and understand English with good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • General knowledge of Saskatoon and its attractions.
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours and lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to view a computer screen for extended lengths of time.

Responsibilities

  • Balance and close the day’s business accurately and timely.
  • Prepare the hotel for the next day’s operation and ensure safety.
  • Greet after-hours arrivals and process check-ins.
  • Produce accurate nightly reports and handle cash transactions.
  • Verify reservation details and communicate with guests on issues.
  • Monitor safety systems and assist with any security issues.

What You’ll Do

As a Night Auditor, you are accountable for balancing and closing the day’s business accurately and timely, preparing the hotel for the next day’s operation, and ensuring all our guests and employees' safety. You have the authority to exceed guest expectations and create a lasting positive impression on each guest. Additionally, you will achieve excellence by maximizing room revenue every shift while delivering against key financial goals for the department. Ultimately, you are a key component in making each guest’s experience warm, pleasant, and memorable. This position will include the night shift any day of the week or weekend and the occasional day shift or afternoon or evening shift if needed.

Job Duties:
  • Ensures the proper completion of all night audit duties and checklists.
  • Resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
  • Registers, processes, and greets after-hours arrivals promptly, welcoming them to the hotel.
  • Stays current with developments in the hotel by reviewing the communication binder and memo’s each shift and updating the communication log for the next shift.
  • Ensures all customers establish credit upon check-in.
  • Verifies all information on reservations check-in, name, address, method of payment, etc.
  • Effectively communicates with guests on noise complaints and issues.
  • Produces accurate and timely reports and correctly handles cash transactions.
  • Accounting duties include verifying the accuracy of transactions and completing daily revenue audits, posting transactions, performing end-of-day procedures, compiling, and running statistical reports for all departments and transfer of information into our accounting system.
  • Provides support to any guests needing assistance and deal with issues as they arise.
  • Prepares nightly reports detailing security activities out of the ordinary in the nightly daily snapshot.
  • Assists with any security issues that may arise during the shift, and lends assistance as required and directed.
  • Reports any deficiencies, damages or repairs required.
  • Monitors fire and life safety systems and respond to any alarms.
  • Assists with other duties assigned.
What You Need:
  • Must be able to work evenings from 11:00pm to 7:00am including weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Must have a minimum of one-year front desk experience.
  • Previous Front Office experience required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Requires good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • General knowledge of Saskatoon and its attractions.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced ability for up to 4 hours in length.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen.
