Ciena Corporation in Ottawa is seeking a Hardware Engineer - New Grad to contribute to mixed-signal IP blocks for the Wavelogic family. You will work on high-speed analog circuits, participate in the full design cycle, and collaborate with the layout team to deliver through GDSII to integration partners.

The role requires pursuing a degree in electrical engineering or related field, internship experience, and proficiency with Cadence/Mentor/Synopsys design tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science or related field.
• Previous internship, co-op, or applied project experience relevant to the role.
• Experience leading designs in advanced BiCMOS and/or CMOS technology.
• Proficiency with design tools from Cadence, Mentor and Synopsys for analog design (e.g. Virtuoso, Calibre, STAR-RC, MMSIM).

Responsibilities

• Design complete analog blocks under guidance of senior analog design engineer.
• Collaborate with layout team on implementation through GDSII to integration partner.
• Characterize analog circuits from test chips to full product implementation.
• Provide regular status updates and participate in team meetings.
